SPRINGTIME TALLAHASSEE

I was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida and this is our beautiful Capitol Building. 

Last week I decided to go home for a few days.

 The SPRINGTIME Tallhassee festival was last weekend so I signed myself, my brother Billy and my sister Dianne up for the SPRINGTIME Tallahassee 5K Walk.

 We chatted with the cute bunny at the start of the race.

I think Dianne is up there somewhere...we could'nt keep up with her!

We did find her right after the race and then headed off to collect some post race goodies followed by breakfast at Waffle House and a visit to World Market.

Then we headed home to hang out on the deck.

Hanging out on the deck with Sherlock is one of the main reasons for my visits to Tallahassee.  He is by far my favorite nephew...at 120 lbs he's soooo sweet and cute! I always try stealing him when i'm ready to head home.

Afternoon on the deck turned into an all day event ending with, family, friends, dinner and card playing long into the evening.

Have ya'll ever had fried ribs?

 This weekend was a first for me... they were delicious!

2010 GTA CHAMPIONSHIP

Today I participated in my first Martial Arts competiton.
During the lower belt competitions I helped out by keeping score,
 judging sparring and preparing trophies for presentation.
 I actually learned so much just watching the others compete.
My portion of the competiton was fun but seemed to go by in a snap.
I did well...

1st Place in Weapons Forms

1st Place in Sparring

2nd Place in Board Breaking

2nd Place in Forms

I think I need a "Chick Cave" for my trophies!

Next, it was off to Monroe for lunch with Pam at the Butcher Block.

After lunch I checked on my booths at The Cotton Depot and Warehouse Antique Mall.

Since today is such a rainy day I headed home for coffee

 and my Y & R and Blog break. 

P.S. This is my third week...no shopping/no sweets!!!

My Favorite Cup

I mentioned earlier that I was going to check out a few blogs...well I did and was led to

"BELL BLANC"  Where Mira is having a giveaway.  What a wonderful idea- I love cups!. 

This is my favorite cup right now.  You can't imagine how many I actually have.  This one is pretty neat.  I already had the cup and saucer then I found the matching top (it probably went with the sugar bowl) and it fits perfectly!  I use it for tea and coffee and it keeps both warmer much longer.

 

I actually showed you this painting of cups that I completed last month, but here it is again .

I sure do hope I win- I know that I anything Mira gives away is going to be fabulous!

Tax Time

I spent this day working on Taxes- i'm actually ahead for me...my plan is to GET THEM TO MY ACCOUNTANT EARLY  this year!    I did sneak out this evening for Karate class.  I will be competing in my first tournament on March 20 an need all the practice that I can get...I probaly need my head examined too!  It sure did look like a beautiful day outside and I hope you enjoyed it if you were out.  I'm going to spend a little time checking out some new blogs before I call it a nitght.  Sleep well...
