I finally got around to making little gift bags of toiletries to give to my friend Mary Ellen to donate to one of her favorite charities.

I also put some in a jar for the guest bathroom- a cute idea that I saw on Pinterest and have been wanting to do.

CRABAPPLE FEST

This was my forth year at the Crabapple Fest in Milton Georgia. It is always on the first Saturday in October.

The winds were extremely high this year.  

I'm grateful that I planned ahead and battened down the hatches with weights and water jugs filled with water and kitty litter.

I made the tent topper which just happened to match the umbrella that I bought at the end of last season.

It was a fun day but I sure am good and tired.

Work Day Wednesday

       I spent the day working my booth.

         I did some decorating for July.

       I made a few paper lanterns.

  And realized that I actually had quite 

  a few red, white and blue pieces         

  already. 

 After a full day at the booth, I'm  back 

at home relaxing with the pups...Bailey 

acts as if I've been missing for days   Instead of hours he has his head on my

foot and is whining for some attention 

 Which I'm going to give him right now!

Long Time, No See

It's been a long time since my last post and I promise to do better.  Since last we spoke we have a new addition to our family- meet Bailey!

I rescued this little monster last August and he has captured my heart! I now understand what moms mean when they say their son is ALL boy. This one certainly is! He is also a lover- he will cuddle up and sleep with me and not move an inch all night. And the best part... He and Dingo get along just fine.

     Since we last talked I also opened a new booth at Ian Henderson's Antique Mall.

I'm moving away from my white Shabby Chic look and am really loving the greens.

These are two projects that I did for the booth last week.

I made the stencil with my Cricut, attached the glitter with spray glue, then 

Used several coats of modge podge.

I decopauged this small suitcase with scrapbook paper, paper flowers, ribbon and glitter. 

These are my new tags for the booth which I stamped and edged in pink. I 

use a pig as my logo since my dealer code is Piggy.

I guess I've said enough for now so I'll

sign off and see you again soon.

Morning Glory

Sofa Girl

Our sweet Fluffy died at home with us early last thursday morning. Anyone who knew Fluff loved her. She loved to talk and was our family "hostess." She would sleep at the bedside of visiting family and woke them up asking to go out or herding them down to breakfast if they dared to sleep in. I miss her barking like crazy when I come in...i miss seeing her sleeping on her back on the living room sofa being "sofa girl" ...sometimes the only part moving would be her BIG bushy tail asking for a tummy rub. This puppy brought such joy to ours lives and we miss her like crazy.

Early Morning Visitor

When I came downstairs to make coffee this morning

 I looked out my kitchen window and realized that I had company.

 A little squirrel was sitting on my deck post enjoying the morning sun.

Basement Library

Our basement library is a work in progress.

I spent most of my day down there working on it and pulling some stuff out for a charity pick up tomorrow.  It amazes me that I have four million objects that I need to get rid of but have to struggle to come up with five to give away to charity.  Don't you think that I should be able to just hand over some of the boxes that we have not opened since we moved here going on seven years ago???

Flowers

Don't you just love fresh flowers? 

 I sure do and almost always have a fresh bouquet in my home. 

Today I decided to make some instead of buying them. 

 I think they came out pretty good for my first try. 

The blooms are made from coffee filters soaked in paints

and the stems are drinking straws!

Tea Time

I had the pleasure of hosting Tea for the Ladies of Flintrock Way yesterday afternoon.

Six ladies were able to attend and we had a grand time getting to know one another.  We have scheduled weekly saturday morning walks in the park. 

Our next neighborhood outing is a  February pizza night at Stevi B's.

I am so pleased that we are coming together as a community and am looking foward to us working side by side on projects and activities we have discussed for this year.

Cruise...Thanksgiving...Birthday...Sewing..

In early November I cruised to the Southern Caribbean

 with my three sisters and we had a great time together!

I returned just in time for thanksgiving...

Then came my 50th Birthday 

which I shared with a few of my favorite friends.

Next up was my very first sewing lesson

with my new vintage sewing machine "Miss Daisy."

Can you believe I made this?

I have been resting for almost a whole day now but who knows what i'll do next...
